What does mimiTENS mean?
It is a made-up word. It is a play on words on 'mes mitaines' in French. That means 'my mittens'.
What are mimiTENS™?
We started doing this because we could not find mittens that stay on. So, at first, it was supposed to represent a collection of mittens. Now, mimiTENS is a brand recognized in some pretty far off places and the line is comprised of mittens, booties, caps, hats and other accessories.
What is up with your mittens? What makes them special?
They are children’s mittens that stay on with no strings attached. Our mittens feature long, stretchy cuffs that reach the elbow. From the fabrics to the embroidery every aspect of our mittens has been carefully considered.
mimiTENS™ come in three styles; SOFT, CLASSIC and ALL WEATHER.
mimiTENS™ SOFT are made entirely of bamboo/organic cotton material. The mittens is an Oeko Tex certified fleece and the cuff is a bamboo/cotton/lycra blend. Our SOFT mittens are made for babies up to 18 months. They feature our adorable embroideries of animals.
mimiTENS™ SOFT are the ideal gift for a newborn child because they are so very useful.
mimiTENS™ CLASSIC + ALL WEATHER are meant for colder climates. They are made of water-repellent nylon and lined with 3M's Thinsulate (150 gram weight) as well as Oeko Tex certified bamboo/organic cotton fleece.
mimiTENS™ CLASSIC + ALL WEATHER are available in sizes ranging from up to 18 months all the way to 5 years old.
The difference between the CLASSIC + the ALL WEATHER mittens are that the CLASSIC ones do not feature any embroidery or a 3M Scotchlite decal. As such, the CLASSICS have a nice clean line and a lower price point.
mimiTENS™ are MADE IN CANADA because it is the right thing to do.
All mimiTENS mittens are produced in Canadian factories known for their excellence in making winter gear. Through our manufacturing partners, we supports safe working environments and provides respectable wages. mimiTENS are proud to create work in Canada.
What is your returns policy?
mimiTENS will accept defective merchandise up to 30 days after purchase and with a receipt. If you bought your mimiTENS at a retailer other than our on-line shop, please contact them. If you bought them from use on-line, we can deal with you directly.
While we have every confidence in our products, sometimes things go unexpectedly wrong – especially when you are making something a few thousand at a time. Please contact us and let us know. We will try to help.
What are your shipping options?
mimiTENS offers two shipping options: standard shipping and expedited and insured. Standard shipping is $3 in Canada and the USA. Please note that standard shipping DOES NOT come with a tracking number or insurance. If the parcel gets lost, mimiTENS is not responsible for misplaced shipments. If you chose the expedited and insured option, this comes with a tracking number and insurance. If an expedited and insured package is lost, mimiTENS will make arrangements with Canada Post and reship your parcel.
